Quick report
We went to the Tiffany zone to take a look at the snowpack and didn't find very much snow. It was a great day to boondock around and explore the zone in an 80 mile loop. This years' storms have not produced well in this zone, but the top foot of snow plays well.

Fairly light east flow and overcast with cloud deck near 7600'. Inverted temps with more snow new snow on the east side of the mountains.
Snowpack
Although this part of the range gets well above 7000' in elevation, there is shallow snowpack in the Tiffany area. The lower elevations have 30-40cm of snow on the ground. The upper elevations have close to 60cm of snow, but it varries from stripped to about 100cm.
Like other East-of-the-crest zones, the middle and lower snowpack is well faceted and weak. Former melt freeze crusts from mid and late December have become loose sugary grains. While the structure is problematic, there isn't enough coverage on most slopes for continuous large slabs to exist. Futrure storms will build upon a weak snowpack.
