We identified two concerning weak layers (surface hoar and facets) buried about 2' deep on shaded slopes. The snowpack structure around these layers was not confidence-inspiring and would have kept us out of steeper, shaded terrain. Newly formed wind drifts from ~6" of snow were isolated to the ridge top in this location.

Mild and overcast. Intermittent S1 snowfall that might have accumulated a couple of centimeters. Winds were moving snow in the higher peaks in our vicinity, but very little active loading occurred along Titus Ridge.
Snowpack
- We found 11-15 cm of new snow.
- Last night's wind loading formed isolated 20-40 cm 4F ridge-top drifts. These drifts quickly disappeared below the ridge.
- New snow sits atop icy, boot supportable 4-7 cm crusts on slopes facing S→E. This did not bond particularly well where it sat on a previous skiff of snow above the crust.
- Although snowpack tests returned ECTXs, the February weak layers on a N @ 9,300' still showed clean shears and blocks slid easily with non-standard force. (see photos)
