Quick report
Traveled to Source Lake, noted 5cm new snow on crust at 3800’. 15cm on crust at 4500’ at Snow Lake Divide. Snow on all aspects around 4500’ and below became wet around 1pm and began to entrain snow in hasty tests.
Avalanche
Witnessed skier triggered D1.5-2 wet loose avalanche off the Bryant Couloir Spines/China Wall around 1:30pm. Debris covered roughly 100’ of popular skin track to No Fog Bowl which we witnessed a dozen of skinners on earlier in the day. Also observed D1.5-D2 glide avalanche debris lookers right in Bryant Peak Couloir with no new snow on dirty debris leading us to believe it was in the morning hours after overnight snowfall. Many large glide cracks and large hanging snow panels in the Source Lake Amphitheater above popular travel routes.
