One instance of whumpfing when another sled pulled beside me. We were sitting in a cutblock. I thought he hit my ski, when I looked over he was a foot away. My son was sidehilling a steep hill in the same cutblock and caused a large fracture. No slide however.

Snow conditions were: Deep powder, Wind affected. Weather conditions were: Cold. We rode: Dense trees, Open trees. Riding quality was amazing.

Avalache Conditions: Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
