Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Open trees. Riding quality was good.
Snowpack
Snowpack was dry powder for the most part but the depth was hugely variable. We found no evidence of a crust. There were deep localized pockets of up to 1 meter and some areas where we were poling the ground. We skied out in the dusk and our headlamps picked out patchy pockets of surface hoar with crystals ~5milimeters in most patches. There were a handful of patches with larger hoar (2 inches long in 1 patch). It was snowing lightly by the time we reached the car (~630pm).
Weather
No new snow throughout the day. Snowing less than 1cm/h in the evening.
