Quick Observation

Today we had a great day up at Seaton. We were above the clouds so had good visibility to see a lot of terrain! We saw a size 2 wind slab avalanche that had been triggered by a rider. The avalanche was on an E facing slope at 1900m. This is a good reminder that wind slab avalanches are still possible to trigger, especially in wind loaded terrain features or around rocks where the snowpack is thinner. Conditions were calm with no precipitation and the snow stayed cold and dry all the way down to the trailhead at 800m.
