The Notch at Fraser
Yukon Field Team,

We travelled up to Bryant Lake and crossed over to the Notch before skiing a steep run off of the ridge line north of the Taiya glacier. About 5ncm of new snow fell overnight. The melt freeze crust is still present to 1500 m. North winds have scoured ridge tops but alpine slopes have buckle-top snow on top of a supportive crust that skis pretty well. The natural avalanche cycle from the January 27-28 warming event was more significant than we had expected - size 2.5 slides have come down to Bryant Lake on both north and east aspects. No new avalanches appear to have come down in the last 48 hours.
