8am start. -16°c at the car. Fast approach to reach the base from the roadside crossing the river. Solid and stable conditions for most of the boot pack. 5cm wind crust in the top third with soft consolidated storm snow beneath. Topped out with no apparent wind which made it feel like spring transitioning in the sunshine. Some minor dry loose sluff on the descent but was easily managed. Top half skied great, with blower snow. Bottom half was more variable but still soft enough to enjoy the down! The fan had warmed with the morning’s solar input which made for some fun last turns. Exit through the trees was a thin bushwhack. Back to the car by 11:30am.
