Mary’s Run
Northwest Coastal

We did a quick Mary’s Run and the riding was surprisingly good. Total snow depth at ~1200m was about 70cm, with 15 cm of dry powder on top of a supportive rain crust. Beneath that crust the snowpack was very moist. South facing slopes had an unpleasant sun crust, but high elevation north and west aspects look to be riding pretty nicely (we saw a crew drop into powder 8’s and it looked great). We also noticed some wet slides on south/east slopes like Geronimo bowl and hourglass. Surface hoar has developed at treeline (see photo). We put our skins on at Tower 8 and were able to survival ski back down to Tower 12.
