So Many Layers!

ben.clark456, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

The layers left behind by recent small storms and wind are quite diverse on this aspect. Hand shear tests yielded anywhere from 2 to 5 invidual sudden planar fractures between 5 and 40cm in depth. The number and depth of these layers varied widely every 50m along the skin track. They were generally more reactive near the surface, but pretty resistant below 20cm. We witnessed 3 avalanches (skier accidental), none deeper than 10cm.
