All in all great day in Nicci’s. She definitely received quite a bit of wind loading last night (varying between 10-15cm). A ski cut pulled out a few smaller slabs near the entrance. However they didn’t have much energy and only ran a few meters down the initial steeper pitch. The rest of the chute skied really well with only a few rocks still showing (be carful in the second choke).
Cheops west shoulder is still quite thin, and the fresh snow sitting on a very thin layer of facets makes for a tough uptrack in a few spots. We didn’t experience much wind today while ascending, but The uptrack to STS got absolutely shrelped last night and looks like a scramble now.
