Quick Observation

Rode south facing Chikadee slopes in snowy conditions. Dug pit at about 2100m in open trees area, found 2 distinct sun crusts at about 50cm. In the trees the storm snow was not consolidated, but as soon as we got out of the trees the recent snow was notably wind effected. Saw recent (today) storm sluffs in the main avi chute near tree line. We skied down from tree line, and set off a size 1 on convex, wind loaded roll remotely from about 10m away (triggered from skier slough). Crown was 10-60cm , 20m across, slid 50m. Skied rest of the way down in sparse trees with no further signs of instability. Temp was steady around -7 Ish.
