Quick report

Red Flags
Wind Loading, Cracking, Collapsing, Poor Snowpack Structure

Experienced long shooting cracks in the newest snow.

Cornice building.

Traveled from 7400'-10,200' all aspects.

Not much new snow from this last storm, 1"-2" at most. The prefrontal winds and cold temps made the snow from the last two storms "stiff" on the south faces and we experienced quite a bit of cracking, collapsing and woopfing, although the low angle skiing on that aspect was quite nice.

Visibility wasn't the greatest but we saw no signs of recent avalanches.

On the north half of the compass the basic snow pack profile is the same with two distinct weak layers and the weakest snow being at the ground.

1"-2" new storm snow.
