Quick Observation
Good to great skiing on northerly aspects and in sheltered areas from recent storm snow covering the inversion crust. We went into the day suspecting challenging descents but were pleasantly suprised! One old loose wet, size 2 out of steep alpine terrain on east aspect. Some challenging skinning conditions on steep slopes, new snow slipping on supportive crust which was barely edgeable (especially solar aspects), ski crampons proving their worth!
Weather
Minimal wind observed which made sunny slopes feel quite warm.
Snowpack
5-15 cm exists on all aspects ALP/TL above the 2-3cm supportive inversion crust (Jan 15).
