Quick report
Skied West facing slopes up to 7200 ft above Upper WF lake. Haven't had many days with this Quality of skiing all year. The winds dissipated through the morning as we gained elevation surprisingly, but it never stopped dumping. The upper rain crust went away at 5500 feet and was later covered by 6 inches of light density fresh. At our high point we skied unaffected 16 inches of new dry snow. We dug 2 hand pits on our tour mid day. First 1 at 6500' found the weak layer (facet crust combo) 70 cm down. Didn't break out with hand shear. At 30 cm down storm slab was reactive but unconsolidated. Second hand pit at 7 grand showed the top cm stiffening up to a wind slab, not very reactive. We skied 4 laps and had to rebreak trail at points each run due to the refills. Good riding found on protected treed slopes less than 35 degrees. Figure it's a different story higher up.

Saw a few smaller, old crowns and debris on steep rocky South facing slopes on ride in and during tour.
