We observed a recent avalanche involving a solo rider

While driving past this popular run (though very few tracks were on it today) we saw a crown right in the guts of the main start zone near the top, with a single snowboard track entering straight at it from above. It was evident the rider rode directly into the start zone and either rode with the slab and somehow avoided going for a ride into the trees, or did go for a ride and came out on top. Either way, after watching this crown from the road for a few minutes we saw who we presumed was the lone rider sheepishly making his way conservatively down the edge of the lower slopes. !!!
