Quick report

Our AIARE 1 Course used practiced snowpit tests below Gully #2, and then we skied the runout zone of Gully 2. We were able to identify the faceted persistent weak layer down 100cm, but this was not the layer that failed during column tests. We found fractures of our compression tests and extended column test down 30cm from the surface (CTM, CTM, CTE, ECTN13). The lower area of Gully 2, where the slope is under 30 degrees, is beginning to fill in enough to be fun skiing! The GOS ski trail was amazingly soft and enjoyable.
