Moist to wet snow was observed at all elevations, which made us feel that minimal to no snow still available for transport. Despite our best attempts to locate it, we weren't able to find any pockets of wind affected snow. 13cm of new snow at 2,700' and 20cm of new snow at 4,200' with significant spatial variability. Hand shear tests in the storm snow at 4,200' required moderate force to produce failures at the old/new snow interface and at a density change 10cm down. With significant effort and after removing the slope's compressive support, we were able to create less than 2' cracks in the storm snow on a test slopes. The ski length blocks were resistant to sliding at the old/new snow interface. We expected to find a bit more snow than we did but were able to get some great turns in. Closer to tree line icy and rocky sections that require walking, side slipping, or brief straight lines were present. Coverage started to thin below Waumbek Tank at 3,800' but it is very skiable to almost the bottom of the Cog if you are accepting of the risk of finding a few rocks.

During our 09:30 - 14:45 tour we experienced light rain and snow at times, with snow that for short periods increased to moderate. Minimal snow accumulation occurred.
