Quick report
We went up Ghost Trees today and experienced roller balls and pinwheels on our approach and the lower part of our ski down. There was a warm up in temperature between today and yesterday. We traveled cautiously through the terrain. It felt like spring conditions with very sticky snow and a lot of roller balls coming off our tracks. We peeked into Fern Grotto and it looked enticing. However, given the warm up and wind loading in the entrance, I was hesitant to feel good about testing the wind slab at the top. We decided to keep it conservative today and ski down Ghost Trees. 👻
