Quick report
We dug a pit at approximately 9000 feet on the North facing slopes above Lundy Canyon. Snow depth was 145 cm. From 0-30 cm the snow pack was comprised of faceted depth hoar. It appeared the old new snow interface was at approximately 50 cm, which would mean about 1 m of snow fell in the last storm. Snow quality was good but somewhat wind affected up high. Snow quality rapidly deteriorated as we descended becoming a heavy hot mess down lower. Some snow and rain fell but there was not enough to accumulate. The road is plowed past the fire station to the end of the small community in Lundy Canyon. It was 48 degrees at the trailhead around 1 pm.
