Quick report
Summited Tumalo around 7:45 am on 1/9. Plans to ski east bowl were thwarted by conditions. Recent avalanche activity under the cornice on skiers left of the bowl is pictured. Saw some sluff and a few ice chunk belows the cornice on skiers right of bowl too. Probe showed us 1-2cm of surface hoar , 4-5cm of light dry snow, followed by 2-3cm of ice, with Did not dig a pit as our decision to skip the bowl was already determined.
