Traveled to the Parleys burn area today from Summit Park neighborhood trailhead. Traveled through SW, NE, N, NW. obvious signs of wind drifted surface snow and small cornices peppered the ridge lines. Lots of pole probing throughout our travels and small hand pits helped us identify a buried crust 15-20cm below the surface on SW, NE, and NW facing slopes from 8,200ft down to 7,600ft. We noted riming on the scrub oaks up high and assumed we must be feeling a rime crust given the multiple aspects.
