Quick report
Seeking the NW flow, we toured up Grizzly Gulch on Wednesday afternoon. Starting around 5 PM, we found 5-6" of low density snow on top of a crusty surface, even on steep, non-solar aspects. Still, some snow is better than no snow!
The main snow hazard we observed was large sluffs running 50-100 feet. We didn't ski anything high consequence or tight, so we felt it was very low danger for our tour.
While the weather started calm, by 6 PM or so the wind had picked up to probably >30 mph, following the usual WNW pattern at Twin Lakes Pass. Skinning back up the Patsy ridgeline for our second lap (maybe 30 min laps), the wind had drifted 4-5" over our skintrack in places, totally covering the skintrack. Near the end of our tour in an open, exposed area, we encountered small, isolated wind slabs approx. 10-14" deep.
