Observation: Beginner Bowl

The moist snow from last week changed dramatically in the last few days due to clear, cold nights and a significant temperature gradient through the shallow snowpack.  There are crumbly crusts in the sun, and very loose, sugary or facetted snow on slopes facing all directions.
