- Red Flags Comment
- <p>We did not encounter any red flags (we were mostly concerned with sluff management in steep terrain, but we did not see much), but could see some across the way. Pictured are several smaller (wind) slabs that released probably in the last couple days between Logan and Providence peaks (E and NE aspects, at about 9400') (two of them reloaded with some drifting at the top).</p>
Snowpack
Surface snow was mostly preserved powder and near surface facets and staying cold. Some southerly slopes we encountered had a soft crust (pictured at 8300' on SW slope) about an inch thick with faceted crystals on top. We encountered few, if any, hard wind slab formation, most of the hard snow we saw was sastrugi or MF crust. Very little blowing snow seen from the NW winds.
