Noticed how most of this ridge line facing the north had several, nearly dozens of small crowns ranging in depth and zig-zagging around steep pockets and trees. Most looked natural from storm slab interfaces from this past week’s storms. But this particular avalanche was unintentional triggered, but to everyone’s surprise was on a different weak layer.

Potential human triggered avalanche unintentional on a mid February crust layer about 30-45cm down. This layer is above the January drought layer that is causing the remote triggering in the area. This was quite a surprise to find and our pit results still showed signs of propagation below it! Head scratcher to see such a layering system.
