Quick report

Snow depth varied depending upon aspect and elevation. We did not need flotation until 8000ft. We observed faceted snow near the base of the snowpack in a variety of shallow locations near treeline, as well as new and reactive windslab on N aspects. On NW & NE aspects at 8900ft we measured the height of snow to be as deep as 200cm. In one pit location on a NW aspect at 8900 ft we observed CT3SC 10cm from the ground failing within faceted snow, HS was 120cm here. Adjacent to this pit on a NE aspect we found easy CT failures within new windslab, 20cm deep. Isolated failures on north facing test slopes demonstrated a reactive windslab problem.
