Quick report
Upsidedown snowpack. Wet heavy on crappy sugar at the ground. Quick digs were inconsistent. If it was old snow which was sugar wet slap popped with a light touch. If the underlawer was old hard wind crust it didn't move. Obviously, when it went, things were going larger than would be expected. Slow slides though but lots moving.
Avalanche
Pretty large slab set off remotely by riding a shuttle line next to the crown. Popped about 1pm. Other west facing slopes were also popping like west end of April bowl chutes. South facing slopes letting loose also. Crown was about 3-4 feet deep and all the way to the grownd. Also saw the slide off skyscraper over the road about the same time when heading out.
