Went out for an afternoon tour above lake Kerman. Kept it low angle on the fingers of the terrain. Temps were above freezing at 0700 this morning and rapidly warmed to high 40’s to low 50’s by afternoon. Light wind at our location, however you could see large amounts of snow transport off all local prominent features. No rapid warming concerns, saw a few roller balls on solar aspects. Experienced a whumpf at 6800’ coming out of pickle meadow on a N aspect. Isolated cracking on wind lips. Solars, and flats were melting on the surface and forming a sun crust as we left. Cold snow remained on N/NE aspects with NW aspects getting warm and sticky from 7000’ to 8300’. Stability still seems questionable, wind slabs are still bonding on the surface and we made no observation of the persistent slab issue today.
