Balfour hut area

Spent a day exploring around Balfour hut. Ascended to wind lip on this outlier of Mt Gordon, but got 2 large whumphs near the summit. We turned around at 2870m and skied the mellow glacier and then headed back to the hut. Spoke to another party in the parking lot who attempted Balfour, but had a large cornice failure while on the ridge, which turned them around. Generally good travel conditions on the Wapta, including up to Balfour High Col. Great powder skiing down from Balfour High Col on April 6th.
