Owlhead Circuit

We spent the day doing a circuit around Mara peak in the Owlhead riding area outside of Sicamous. We found some good riding on high elevation north facing features, but everything else feels pretty cooked. We did a bit of digging and snowpack testing on the series of crusts in the upper 100 cm of the snowpack on high elevation shady aspects, but found rather uninteresting results. There was no wind slab problem in this zone today. You could pretty much ride it if it was white. :) It stayed cold in the alpine today, but lower elevations got pretty warm. Neat zone, I bet it's a LOT of fun on a powder day!
