Skies were clear as I headed up the ridge at sunset. Throughout my tour, temperatures were below freezing and winds remained calm. Temperatures only minorly dropped (~2-5 degF) once the sun set — unlike the past couple of nights where temps plummeted as soon as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Snowpack

Leaving the truck at the pass at 8700' on a personal evening ski, I went up the ridge past the to first bump (9639'). Dropping down Humble Pie for a couple of runs, HN ranged from 10-14cm. Surfaces remained soft, while the space for new tracks was minimal. Going on a bit of an adventure to try to find an area of snow not impacted by skier traffic this season, I dug into the snowpack on a WSW slope at 9600'. The 11/30 facets were thinnly still present at the base of the snowpack, but pit results yielded an ECTN 19 in the middle of the crust/ facet stacks mid-snowpack.
