Tons of new snow, in protected areas are poles were sinking 100-110cm down. Steady snow all day long and lots of wind higher up and out of the trees. We stayed in low angle terrain less than 30 deg and made sure not to travel under anything steeper either. We experienced a number of collapses in flat-ish terrain on the way up. Another major sign of instability was the two crowns we observed on a steep, north facing slope across the drainage from where we skied. Hard to tell from far away, but probably size D1-1.5 with a ~12" crown, but likely ran through trees into a terrain trap gully below.
Avalanche
We saw two crowns on steep, north facing terrain across the drainage from where we were skiing. Both appeared to be natural as we did not see any tracks into either crown. We did not go looking for the debris pile as it was likely in the terrain trap below where it would have been too dangerous to go. Hard to tell from far away, but probably size D1-1.5 with a ~12" crown, but likely ran through trees into a terrain trap gully below.
