CTH@132cmSP CTH@132cmRP ECTN23@132cm ECTX DTH@55cmSP We dug on a North aspect near 8,000’, total snow depth here was 175cm, the surface crust was easy to collapse and created isolated cracks. We also got Sudden results on a CT on a weak layer just under a mid pack crust. Near 132cm from the ground. However our ECTs did not propagate. We performed a Deep Tap on a layer 55cm from the ground and also got a Sudden Planer result. We observed some roller balls that triggered two small slides in very steep isolated terrain, it looked to be the upper crust that slid and produced these small slides.

Snowpack
We observed surface hoar in almost every location along our ride, however below 7,500’ it was not there on our ride out around 4pm. The upper elevations had widespread surface hoar growth even tho the fins were small in size they are sitting on top of a 2cm crust. Below this crust is also weak snow that sits on top of another 2-3cm crust. Below that is a strong layer of snow with yet another crust below, and just under that crust is where we had sudden results. Upper elevations stayed cold in the shade, while lower elevations and sunny aspects were quite warm when in the sun. Many trees were shedding their frozen bits, and drip rings around them make for interesting riding.
