Quick report

Parked ~1 mile from lower TH although there were a few rigs parked there on our exit. Good coverage on approach/exit trail. 1-3” of new snow on lower elevations, up to 12” where we topped out at 8700ft. Snowglobe conditions most of the day, with moderate winds at middle and higher elevations, primarily from the N/NW although it was swirling around at the gash knob ridgetop, with lots of snow available for transport. Isolated whumpfing and frequent collapsing while skinning up especially as we gained more elevation, seemed to be collapsing on wind/suncrust underneath the recent new snow. High quality skiing conditions from gash knob, and we dialed back our terrain choices and stuck to low angle slopes all day due to recent new snow, winds and overall touchy conditions. . The new storm snow hasn’t totally consolidated into a slab yet but anticipating pretty heads up conditions moving forward.
