Isolated cracking underfoot in areas that had been hit by the sun in most recent warming spell. 5 cm new snow overnight, 20 cm for blower pow with active transport in the afternoon. Steady temp around 20 F. Snowpit had a log in the back, but resistances aligned with informal pole resistance tests. Upper snowpack had crust/facets combos and lower snowpack strong over weak structure. Was happy to be on slopes >32°, avoided areas where a wind slab maybe be found as well as shallow areas, Potential for avalanches to step down was concerning. Rode the roads, skied west aspects. Fog so thick it was tough to see what was going on outside our own minds, let alone any recent avalanche activity.
