Quick report
Variable snow surfaces were the name of the game today. The wind has done a real number to all exposed northerly slopes that we travelled on or near with unreactive firm old wind slabs near ridgelines and hooky (for skis) wind skins in more mid-slope locations. In protected areas, the surface snow was soft and actively faceting (especially in the upper 4-6”). Solar slopes seem to have either breakable or stout sun crusts formed on them… with no sun facing slope spared. The soft snow is still real fun, but getting harder to track down!
