20” or so of new on south aspect. No cracking or whumphing. Had bonded well to old surfaces. No natural releases. Could get no propagation on test features. The new snow was upside down with 8” of heavier snow on top of 12” of fluff. Snowed hard all day. Made for very slow travel and laborious skiing. Plenty of early season hazards lurking below the surface and unexpected holes.
