Quick report

• Feeling quite tropical up in the mountains on the sunny aspects. • Impressively large and feathery surface hoar growing at lower elevations, gradually getting smaller and diminishing traveling up in elevation. • Traveled from approximately 6700 ft to 8850 ft. Very slight variations in aspect make the difference between fun skiing and "really wish you don't have to ski it" ice, crust variations, and chewed up snow. • No signs of instability noticed while traveling. Did not do any snowpack digging.
