Banner Summit

~40 cm of light fluffy snow on top of 10-20 cm of snow made for challenging trail breaking. Light snowfall and nearly no wind until around 8000 ft. New snow was loose, dry, and not easily packable. At 2pm the sun came out, and within 30 min the snow on W and N aspects (where we skied) turned into concrete. We had only occasional views of steeper terrain, and did not see any signs of instability.
