Dug a pit just below the cliff band on Grizzly Shoulder at ~2100m at around noon. Snow temp was -5, air was hovering around -2 but with the sun finally showing the top layer of fresh snow was quickly becoming sun affected in open areas. Pit was S/SW facing on a 40 degree slope and was dug 200cm deep. 7th hand tap reveled a sudden fracture 35cm down on the new storm snow interface, and 9th elbow resulted in a further failure ~80cm down. The January 16th crust was still observable at the bottom of the pit 180cm down but yielded no results.
