Had a fun day doing the Hamilton Lake Traverse today, we were the first skiers to go up the Hamilton Trail since the last precipitation. Going up the col the snow was fairly wind affected but with no signs of instability. We went down the col right next to Emerald Peak, something we would NOT recommend. The lower portion of the bowl ripped to maybe size 4 in the last cycle and left behind a hard icy snowpack hidden under a unconsolidated foot of snow. From perfect snow to bulletproof snow/exposed rock and ice with hard to manage cliffs. I would think the col below Carnavon might offer a better descent option.
