Quick report
Warming and wetting continues to occur but remains limited to a melt/freeze crust in the high alpine. Around 7,000’, the top 30 cm of the snowpack was wet, with moist snow below that to the buried 3/31 and 3/25 crusts. That warming and wetting is more superficial on the upper mountain, above the 8,500’ upper limit of the NWAC upper elevation band, with dry snow below a melt/feeeze that’s a couple inches thick. Evidence of a few small wet loose avalanches that occurred over the weekend. Easy to initiate roller balls on steep sun-warmed slopes at 12:30 PM below 9,000’, and while unable to initiate wet loose stuffs on test slopes, it felt like wet loose would become possible to initiate later in the afternoon.

The upper snowpack is transitioning to melt/freeze much more slowly at upper mountain elevations.
