Incline Peak

We toured in the Incline Peak area looking for wet snow development with the change to warmer weather today.  Sunny skies, lighter winds, and warm temperatures created wet snow on solar aspects by the mid to late morning hours.  Surface snow on these aspects ranged from transitional snow, wind scoured surfaces, and wet snow.  Lower elevation south aspects had more melt freeze conditions, but we did not find any corn snow today.  Wind scoured surfaces existed with raised tracks, eroded cornices, and wind features on most exposed N-NE-E aspects.  We found cornices and wind features in unusual locations in below treeline areas from the previous NE wind event.  Wet snow on East aspects became punchy and deep by midday.  We triggered several small D1 wet loose avalanches on small test slopes, with larger wet loose avalanches expected later in the afternoon.
