Quick report
Small natural slide lower 1/3 of slope. About 10” new snow Clouds intermittent snow squalls Ski cut did not trigger any slides, skied Stove Pipe. Aggressive line, skied cautiously stayed off zone near pipeline that seemed more slide prone. Large river of slough running next to my line I felt stability was improving and was shocked to see what happened overnight between Sunday and Monday, April 1. The Avalanch smashed the surface of the lake ice you can see a very long crack running around the bottom of the slope on the edge of the lake. Melissa, Cory Peak; Sub peak east. I skied on Sunday. There was a small natural slide mid slope 30’-w x 180’ long, lower 1/3 of run prior to my skiing ! Approximately 50° On my run Lots of slough visible near my tracks. No skier triggered slide. Toured home. Monday April 1st, back for more. Shocked to see the size and destruction of the lake surface, covering much of my skin track across the lake from the previous day. Appears to be a natural slide that occurred between Sunday 1 PM and Monday 2 PM likely triggered in the night by wind/collapsing Cornice I think; in the corner pocket.
