Crystal Ridge

Bizarre skiing conditions, bottomless facets with poor floatation at treeline and below. Very difficult trailbreaking below treeline, improving in the alpine but thin coverage. Lots of rocks in the alpine. Best skiing was at treeline. One whumph below treeline, non-propogating cracking at treeline. Alpine snowpack (West facing) was thin with lots of sharks! Made it up to the summit of Crystal Ridge, got the skis to within 100m of the top, easy boot pack from there. Our route kept us essentially out of any consequential avalanche terrain. Fun day and better than expected, all things considered!
