With all the new snow and elevated danger ratings we made a conservative trip plan for north of Sparwood. We had to fight the desire to push into bigger terrain when the storm cleared earlier than expected and there was even some blue sky. We saw evidence of a large natural avalanche cycle overnight and the wind was still loading easterly slopes in the alpine. We still had loads of fun (and stucks) playing on fresh roads and cutbanks while giving the storm slabs time to bond to the old snow surfaces.
