Skied several zones in the Shames back country.
Ridge top and alpine areas wind affected and stripped back to sundays raincrust which can be found at least to 1500m. It seems that Mod Southerly winds were present during the storm, loading N/NW aspects and cross loading others. We found boot deep cold snow at treeline, overlying a just barely supportive rain crust. Below treeline snow becomes moist and snowpack tapers rapidly near 700m. Sun came out in PM and cooked solar aspects. 2 Small Sa windslabs to size 1 were found at entrance to prayer flags where wind had obviously been loading, 20cm by 2m ran 5m.
Good skiing at treeline.
