The trail up to the Skypilot area is quite thin until around 1350m after which one could snowshoe or skin continuously towards the east bowl below Ledge Mountain and Sky Pilot. We found between 5 and 10cm of new snow in the basin where it was sheltered from the sun. The new snow was not well bonded with the crust below, but we did not notice any instabilities associated with the poor bond. The snow did not feel slabby or wind affected in any of the areas we travelled.
On the south side of Ledge Mountain we observed some pin wheeling and warming of the snow pack, but it never turned problematic. Most of the rime on Ledge and Habrich melted off by the afternoon.
The couloir between Ledgeling and Ledge Mountain had heavier powder, but was generally a straightforward boot pack with no instabilities noted.
