Spent the day touring around Montana Bowl and Kokanee Ridge today. Travel conditions were challenging with a widespread crust on the surface. As the day progressed and the snow surfaces warmed, travel became more manageable. Skied a southwest-facing alpine slope in the early afternoon that had a few centimeters of soft, moist snow on the crust.
With the crust staying strong and intact throughout the ski day, the primary challenges were navigating tricky travel conditions and managing exposure to cornices.
